ARNOLD
SAMUEL M. ARNOLD I need some help getting
data on Samuel M. ARNOLD (1822-1895) and family. He left Ohio, Montogomery
County, I think, and moved to Marion IN in 1868 to open a merctile business
with George W. GUNDER. Three of his boys, all in the late teens or early
20s Levi (1849), Annias and Solomon I know moved with him to Indiana. I
am not sure if there were other children or a wife. Supposedly he mustered
out after serving in Civil War in 1865, but he would have been 43 years
old. The National Archives do not have pension records for him. The town
of West Baltimore was mentioned in some of the records, but I find no town
on the map, although there seems to be other "Wests" and "News"," attached
to towns in the area. I am willing to pay for time
if someone would do the research in Montgomery County as far back as possible,
since I have found it hard to make the trip.

MAYO
Thanks for responding to my email. I have
been researching some myself and all the information I have is as follows:
My aunt was common law married to a man by the name of Claude E. Mayo Jr.(Whittey)
who died in 1990. He took the 4 girls from her and went to Illinois. He
tried to keep them and the state declared him an unfit
parent and took the children. The state then adopted them out to two brothers
and their wives. The two older went to one brother and the two younger
to the other. I know that the state changed their names. I only have two
of the changed names. Dorothy Lucielle Mayo-May 10.1958 St. Luke Hospital,
Ft.Thomas,Ky. Diane Sue(DeeDee)Mayo now known as Kathy Graham-April
5,1959 Miami, Florida. Claudine
Lee Mayo-August 31,1960 Iowa State Hospital,Iowa.
Margie Ann Mayo now known as Julie Higginbotham-Dec.3,1961 St.Elizabeth's
Hospital Covington,Ky. My mother and our family hasn't had contact with
them since the oldest was 6yrs.. I know that
they have met their biological father before he died. If anyone has any
information please email me at TLyons6988.
I hope this information
will help. Please email me back and let me know that you have received
it and will post it. I appreciate it. I have
